A slick of petroleum shimmers in the rain of a parking lot. The movement of it was as mesmerizing as wondering where our energy futures might lie. | www.noir.net | #oil #energy #future #twittergram
A mess o' power. This is what 100 year old electrical lines look like. Let's get into the 21st century already. #power #energy #rockford #infrastructure #rockford
Looking for an advantageous perspective of the new and old Bay Bridges in the fleeting light of the San Francisco bay area proves more difficult than it would seem at first.
A grainy snaphot taken in one of those moments where the sun had long ago set, and left an ominous rose-orange glow in the sky. I remember vividly how rare those moments used to be. Sadly, they're just Instagram filters nowadays.
I've been exploring my photographic vision by "meandering" for as long as I can remember having a camera. This shot was taken back when pusing Ektachrome 400 by two stops was the only way to get steady hand-held shots with slow lenses at dusk. I think this was taken with a Nikon FM2 & Nikkor 100mm f/2.8, wide open at @ 1/50s while leaning through my car window.
Puffs of steam seem to hover like cotton candy over the two smokestacks at We Energy's Oak Creek, Wisconsin power plant. The plant is an evolution of the very first one built in the 1950s, and uses natural gas and sub-bituminous coal to produce 1,135MW of electricity for the Milwaukee region.

Reykjavík Hydroelectric Plant || A wide interior view of the almost 100 year old hydroelectric plant that still supplies electricity to an older part of the city of Rejkyavík, Iceland. Iceland generates nearly 100% of its power from hydroelecrtic and geothermal sources, making it one of the few nearly carbon-neutral countries on the planet.

Crescent Moon & Baby Cloud || The last puffs of steam from the cooling towers of the Exelon nuclear plant in Byron form a funny little, toy-like cloud over the Rock river under a rising crescent moon. . @exelongen @comed . . #clouds #dusk #steam #pastel #crescentmoon #moon #moonrise #nuclear #nuclearpower #nuclearreactor #energy #renewableenergy #pandemic #river #rockriver #rockford #rockfordil #rockfordillinois
